This one time I met Adele. No big deal, right? She performed a private holiday concert at a winery in Portland. My friend and fellow music lover, Caitlin, had introduced me to her first album, 19. This was before she blew up with her second album. Caitlin worked some magic, as she knew the owners of this winery and we were able to attend the event by working as security. Basically, we collected tickets and stood watch by Adele's makeshift dressing room until the show started. I remember Adele being really sick, which explains why she looks miserable here. I, however, was really excited and grinning madly.
This month's Scrap Our Stash challenge was inspired by this sketch, with an added challenge to use handmade flowers. I started with a mixed media background (something I hadn't done in awhile) using clear gesso and an array of spray inks. I was happy to read the twist for this challenge and knew exactly what I was going to do for the handmade flowers. I make and sell flower accessories out of die cut wool felt, freeform embroidery, and buttons. I've been making these flowers a lot lately and added four of them to the layout. I enjoyed bringing together two of my crafty hobbies. Play along, create a layout, and link up by May 29th to win a $25 Gift Card.
Several months ago I won an online contest and was given the Office Suite kit from Fancy Pants Designs. I was looking forward to designing with it before it's official release, but then never put it to use. I finally busted it out for this project. The lighter pastels are a departure from my usual palette and a good challenge for me.
