Today I shared this project on the DCWV blog - my first post as part of the DCWV design team! The DCWV DIY Wall Zoo collection has assorted cardboard animals and I chose to decorate this faux moose bust.
To decorate, I traced the cardboard pieces onto paper from the Winter in the Woods and Christmas and Winter stacks. This paper combination is great, with gorgeous colors and assorted chevrons and woodgrains. I then carefully cut the paper and glued them onto the pre-cut, numbered, and ready to assemble cardboard pieces.
I'd be lying if I said this didn't take some time. It was a sloooow process cutting the paper for the various shapes, but I wanted to be careful and ensure they all fit together accordingly. I just started watching Game of Thrones so I had that to entertain me in the background while I traced, cut, and glued. After the paper was glued, assembling the cardboard pieces was pretty easy.
The finished moose now hangs in my craft room and I love looking at it from different angles!
