I'm a week into my holiday staycation and I've been crafting up a storm. I've done a bit of scrapbooking, but mostly sewing. This time last year I was frantically trying to finish a surprise quilt for my sweetheart. I had spent months working on it when he wasn't around and I gave it to him for Christmas. He proclaimed it the best gift he's ever gotten and still raves about it. However, I have since taken a respite from sewing and haven't quilted anything in a year. During this break I've rekindled my love of sewing. I made some quilted pot holders that I started a year ago and finally finished. I also made two messenger bags, which I'd never done before. The first was a gift for the DIY gift exchange that we do at our annual holiday party.
The second was a bag I created for myself, but I may end up giving it away. I think I want to try another one with a longer strap and possibly incorporate a zipper. Although, I love these fabrics and may end up keeping it after all. Decisions, decisions.
Here's a shot of the inside, which has a bunch of pockets and a key ring holder.
