I'm excited to share that I'm a guest designer this month for Paper Secrets! It's my first time designing for a website, which is something I hoped to do when I started entering challenges a few months ago. So yeah, awesome. Here's my layout inspired by the Paper Secrets Sketch Challenge. I'll be sharing another one mid-month. I wanted to remember the day I met this special kiddo, Isabella. She was so tiny then and it's hard to believe she just turned one on Friday. I love being an auntie, but my dearest family and friends with children live in Arizona so I don't get to see them as often as I'd like. Thankfully, her mama sends me lots of videos and photos so I can still be a part of her life from afar.
Here's the mixed media background I made using drops of spray ink and water to create water color effects before adding stencils and stamping.
Here's some closeups of the paper layers, photos, and embellishments. I make flower headbands, hair clips, and brooches using wool felt and freeform embroidery that I sell locally at Gossamer. I decided to add them to this spread with resin flowers in the center. Like the quilting in my last layout, it was enjoyable combining my other craft techniques into a scrapbook layout.
