I can't believe it's almost December. How is that even possible? It's been a relaxing long weekend full of craftiness and some baking mishaps. I'm definitely better at the former than the latter. Today I'm excited to share my latest layout for Creative Scrappers. I used my favorite photo of our little family, the only professional photo taken of the two of us with our two pups.
This was inspired by Creative Scrappers Sketch 283. Head over to the blog for the reveal, as I think it's my favorite to date. To win the December prize from 17Turtles create a layout and enter the challenges using the inlinkz widget at the end of the reveals for Sketches 283 or 284. The deadline to submit your layout is December 31st at Midnight EST. Also, go visit 17Turtles -- Facebook / Shop / Blog for some fantastic cut files!
A few years ago I took a quilting class and was hooked. I wanted to adapt this sketch to look like a quilt. I cut and pieced strips of Amy Tangerine papers before sewing on top of them and zig zagging around the edges. Seeing as if the background papers were very busy, I limited (for me!) my use of embellishments. I added some randoms from my stash, which included a pink doily, some Heidi Swapp die cuts, and Amy Tangerine thickers.
