I've decided to embrace the word "brave" for the upcoming year.
adjective, brav·er, brav·est.
1.possessing or exhibiting courage or courageous endurance.
2.making a fine appearance.
3.Archaic. excellent; fine; admirable.
I've made several brave decisions recently and one of them is the creation of this blog. Writing these posts and sharing my art work publicly is most definitely an act of courage. While I don't consider myself a writer, but I have thought about documenting my creative endeavors for years. I'm always making something and usually have several projects in the works, whether its a quilt, brooch, jewelry organizer, baby bib, or scrapbook. The web has helped teach and inspire most of these projects so I hope I can contribute in some small way in other folk's creative endeavors.
This is the first page I made in my art journal for Brene Brown's Gifts of Imperfection (part 2) e-course. These are my permission slips for the course. I left a couple blank in case I needed some added permission later on. I didn't realize until after the page was complete that I'd made a spelling error. See if you can catch it. As a recovering perfectionist, it bothered me greatly. I was very tempted to rip off the off the attached paper and make a new one, but decided to let it stay. It still bugs me, but I'm keeping it there as a lesson on imperfection.
